Tips For the Ice Cream Craft

  • To make a sturdy cone, cut your cardboard in a rectangular shape first, then taper the edges slightly to form a cone shape. This will make it easier to handle and more realistic for pretend play.
  • Using cardboard gives the craft stability, making it durable enough for kids to play with. You can even add a bit of construction paper or card stock to make it extra sturdy.

What age group is this craft suitable for?

This craft is perfect for young kids, especially preschool crafts. Just be sure to provide adult supervision when using scissors.

Can I use different materials?

Absolutely! Feel free to use construction paper, tissue paper, or even pom poms for the ice cream scoops. Get creative and use what you have in your craft cupboards.

How to make the craft more challenging for older kids?

For older kids, you can add more intricate details like drawing chocolate chips or using brown paint for realistic scoops of ice cream. Let them experiment with different textures and colors.
